With the existing blood donation centre getting too cramped and run down, a new building three times the size was acquired by the Australian Red Cross Blood Service (ARCBS) in the heart of Shepparton. Critical to the refurbishment was the provision of complex electrical and mechanical components to allow for the critical temperature control requirements for blood storage to provide the necessary redundancy for the blood storage system.
