With the picnic area closed for public safety following a powerful storm that brought down hundreds of trees and damaged facilities, this well-loved area has been re-opened with new and improved facilities for locals and tourists. Repair and upgrade works included picnic shelter area and tables; pathways and roads; installation of 520 rock boulders; new barbeques; park benches; new DDA compliant toilet block; new galvanised pedestrian footbridge and staircase; drinking fountains; signage, fencing and gates; vehicle bridge; and garden beds.
