Lawson Poole Recreational Reserve Pavilion

Location

1200 Thompson Road, Cranbourne

Duration

February – September 2019

Value

$2.5 million

Client

City of Casey
Architect
Programmed
A new extension to the existing pavilion more than doubling the number of amenities available.

The extension includes six changerooms with toilets and showers, kitchen, referee room, first aid room and storerooms. The design brings together the old and the new, with open spaces and an enormous outdoor decking area where there are views to ovals on either side of the pavilion. With the worksite located adjacent to a children’s playground, public safety was critical. Safety fencing was erected to protect the public and to protect the area during works. A key project objective was the use of reclaimed timber for the purpose of decking, trusses and roof beams.
