Our privacy policy
Harris HMC is an Australian Construction company committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals. Its activities include construction, interiors, electrical and maintenance services.
Purpose
As an Australian registered company, Harris HMC is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles contained within that Act. All employees and officers of Harris HMC are expected to comply with the Act and this Privacy Statement.
From time-to-time, Harris HMC collects personal information from:
- Employees
- Customers
- Suppliers, subcontractors and consultants
Information or opinions which are collected, held, used or disclosed by Harris HMC about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, is required to be protected by the standards outlined in this Statement.
Aims
To deliver our commitment to privacy, we will:
- Ensure that personal information collected will be that necessary for Harris HMC to carry out its business activities and used for the purposes it was collected for.
- Ensure lawful, fair and unobtrusive means are used to only collect personal information that is necessary for our business purposes.
- Take reasonable steps to keep personal information up to date, accurate and complete.
- Communicate this Privacy Policy to all employees and stakeholders to ensure awareness of their requirement to comply with our privacy standards and to anyone else who asks for it.
- Take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information in a secure manner when we have no further need for it or are required to do so by law.
- Ensure only authorised personnel who have agreed to keep personal information confidential have access to the information.
Where an employee wishes to access or modify personal information which Harris HMC holds about them, or make a complaint in relation to a breach of your privacy, they may contact the Finance and Administration Department.
Harris HMC may partially or wholly redact documents to protect the personal information of others and/or for the reasons of ensuring confidentiality as part of an ongoing or completed workplace investigation.
Harris HMC recognises and respects the importance of each individual’s privacy. This Statement and related procedures ensure all personal information held by Harris HMC is handled appropriately and kept confidential.
