The All Aboard Bus Tour was launched. This half day tour takes a Group of our staff from different Divisions to our offices and project sites to learn about the company.
We gained ISO14001 Accreditation for our Environmental Management Systems cementing our acute awareness of our corporate responsibility to our environment, community and employees.
The “Reach 100” initiative was launched. Employees nominate a personal goal they would like to achieve within the next 12 months and if it is reached they receive $100.
Harris HMC achieves the highest year of turnover ever – $84m.
The Construction Division complete the Dow Street Apartment project in Port Melbourne. This is the largest project Harris HMC have completed and the second with client Metacorp.
Three years ago we began our relationship with Kids Under Cover, but this year Harris HMC is named an Official Corporate Partner. We build around 50 studios per year, which assists young people in having safe and secure homes, whilst still remaining close to their family.
The Construction business unit complete some significant projects this year including Garden Street, South Yarra ($13.2m) and the Burwood Mosaic Apartments ($13m).
The team at Harris HMC has grown so large that we are bursting at the seams in the Henderson Street office. A site is identified close by in Kensington and the Maintenance and Electrics Divisions including the factory, move to our first remote site.
The Interiors team secured a significant project with the Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre ($10m). This heritage building includes renovations and an extension and is expected to take 10 months to complete. The project also raises a significant $10K for our charity partner Kids Under Cover.
Our Construction Team was awarded the 2013 CEFPI award for Outstanding School Facilities, Commendation for Renovation/Modernisation over $1m in the Victoria division. The $3m project was a state of the art facility for Mentone Grammar.
We made some strong developments in the social media front and created a company LinkedIn profile. In addition, the company website and Intranet is expanded and refreshed.
The Company Vision of being a Top 1% company is born and is announced at the Christmas party.
